Just a quick note to let folks know there is a rails-to-trails project in-progress in Northern Indiana - 21 miles connecting Winamac and France Park near Logansport. I've only seen the beginning of the trail just south of Winamac on US35, but I'm told the first 4-5 miles, from Winamac to Star City, are completed. Apologies if this has already been posted.

Thanks, Don. I am hoping to ride that trail in 2010, and it's a farming area, so the local roads should be low traffic. If you follow enough links, it looks like this trail may be part of a system that eventually would allow one to bike (mostly) off-road from Lake County, IN to Indianapolis in 20??. Well, it's a nice dream anyway.
