Mountain Biking - New fork...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Greetings. Am searching for my new suspension fork and am looking for some advice. I need a xc fork with 80-100 mm of travel that weighs around 3.5 lbs. It seems in the Rock Shok line the SID XC would do the trick but I can't find any 01 closeouts. In the Manitou line I found a X-Vert Air 2001, this seems to fit all of my criteria, but I don't know anything about the fork. Can anyone clue me in, good deal for $189? Thanks for the info. Zach
I would say so. I bought the regular X-Vert from Pricepoint for 149 and it is an awesome fork.

The xvert might have too much travel for your needs. Pricepoint has good closeout sales on forks, so does universal cycles last I checked.
Hi. Thanks for the advice, you are right 105mm is way too much travel for my needs. What about a Manitou Mars C carbon fork? It's a 2000 model year but for $199, it seems like a good buy. But most importantly will the carbon hold up? Thanks. Zach
