Foo - Recommend me some 3/4 riding pants?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In other words I guess we could call then knickers but I get lots of crap at most bike stores. They're only for women, blah blah blah. I'd like something I could commute in, run to the store or even go MTBing in. I just like being more covered but not worry about dragging pants through the chain sometimes.

I have a few pair of Prana Nemesis (http://www.prana.com/prodbot.aspx?prodid=2694&colorid=47168) knickers. REI's Slickrock knickers are nice too, but out of stock until the spring.
Also Chicago WIG (http://web.mac.com/chicagowig/www.chicagowig.com/Knickers_%26_t_shirts.html) and Chrome (http://www.chromebagsstore.com/apparel/mens-apparel/shins.html). I've not tried the latter, but I hear good things.

Ibex wool knickers (http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/product/1473/8990/mens-el-fito-three-quarter-bike-knickers) are quite nice. And quite pricey. I like them a lot.

I've seen those knickers for women and have been interested and when I can't find my size I then see the pink label and walk away pissed. I would use baseball pants if they weren't so high waisted.
any pair of pants you like and are willing to hem.Hell, I have a few pair of thrift shop slacks that I've just cut with a straightedge and a razor. No sewing needed*!

Walmart has 15" inseam Dickies shorts for less than $20. Those are 3/4 length on some people.

Anything you wear below your hips will work!
I always see guys roll up there pant legs while riding, at least around here they do. While off of the bike they wear the pants like normal.

Back in the day, I used to be a regular in SS/FG before it became assified and the regulars did a mass exodus to their own regional forums.
