the SKS Commuter fenders went on very easily and they only cost $35.

I bought a pair of these too. Quite happy with them. I'm about to cut off the excess spoke that overhangs on the front fender, both for looks and to keep my toes from hitting them when I turn. Almost lost one of the rubber ends from a toe strike. Just remember to leave enough on for them to slide back on if you do it.

I checked for toe strike which I have on a couple of bikes - weird this bike doesn't have that problem. funny how geometry works.

Does your bike have "fender eyelet's" on the front suspension fork?? I'm currently using chrome "splash guards", (ie: shorty fenders) as I couldn't find anything that will hook up to my 80mm suspension fork on the front, thanks! :)

Yes, it does and I was glad of that. However I had to use the long screws that came with the kit leaving me nothing great for the rear. Fortunately the screws I used to mount my rear rack were long enough to accommodate the fender braces as well.
I could have used the shorter screws that came with the kit if the front braces didn't have big gooky plastic vertex(s).
I've used P-clips to mount things in the past - maybe you can use them to mount fenders? I think P-clips come in a large variety of diameters.

I had to use p clips on the front fork. The ones in bike shops are pricey. Hardware store versions are probably way cheaper.

I have these on my Felt X City D. I also get toe strike but it's only when I'm starting and stopping, so turning very wide. Oddly enough, I've yet to ride this bike in the rain. Every time I'm in the rain, I'm on my Trek, which has no fenders. I gotta work on my decision making.

I had SKS fenders on my bike. I still have the front one on, but the rear doesn't fit with the 30mm tires I got. :(
(But that's a Sirrus Comp issue not an SKS issue). I could probably do some surgery on it and make it work, but so far it hasn't been worth it. But the rainy season is coming...

I think I am going to give myself some fenders for Christmas, this year.
I think I want some that will accept up to 45mm wide tires, and still look Ok with 35's. Unsure if I want black, or silver, on my black bike. I want them to be rattle free, durable, and, of course, good looking. More than likely, I will stay with my mix of a 40mm wide rear, and a 35mm front. Full coverage is a given.
It wil give me more to do this winter....... and, then, just maybe, I won't have to clean as much grit off the mechanical bits....
