Commuting - Orbea to work?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

(See) Anyone use this?
sightings, comments, experiences welcome
I've only seen Orbeas on training and group rides but if it works for you that's all that counts.
I see just as many commuters on mountain/hybrids as road bikes. When I had a job to commute to I rode my '99 Raleigh R600 road bike.

If it works, use it! The bike will certainly impress your coworkers.

hmmm are you saying it's a bad call to use for the everyday commute? The pratical use is for the eveyday commute but the ultimate reason is I want to start doing long range riding...
i use my serotta to commute...
I commute on my Steelman SR (though I once rode my Orbea Pista track bike to the coffee shop).

As I was leaving one of our grocery co-ops the other evening, a lycra-clad cyclist was clip-clopping in. I saw his Orbea Pista parked at the rack. Looked almost new.

Orbea is one of the few brands that tempts me to buy a spiffy new bike, but if I had a sweet bike like that I wouldn't beat it up commuting. But if that's what you've got, and that's what you want to use, go for it.

Have only seen an Oreba on group rides....get a cross or a MBT......something you can put a rack on. Most of the commuters that I see riding road bikes in Philly, generally are not using their best bikes
