Noticed my dog Harley limping this morning when I fed them. Then noticed the blood trail. Uhmm - officially not good. Checked him out and found that he had torn a nail to where it was hanging right at the base of his paw. After looking at it a bit I could tell it was a pretty significant injury, so I called the vet. No worries - only a $300 vet bill. :innocent: Wow. They had to put him under and perform minor surgery. Nice. Kind of funny watching him flop his paw around with a baggy on it tonight though. :)

That must have been a nasty torn nail. Good ending to the story though.

Ah, poor doggeh. Something similar happened to one of my dogs growing up. She was a Border Collie and it was hard stopping her from running around like an idiot with a booty on. Man, Sophie was a great dog. With that said, extra bones are in store for the next few days.

Is the mutt wearing a "cone of shame"? The interaction with other dogs while they're wearing one is quite enlightening. By the way according to my mutt, steak is necessary to promote quick healing of all cannine injuries.
