Hi guys! My name is Jon, and no I'm not a cowboy. Hah. I'm originally from the Dallas area and am now schooling/residing in College Station. I'm really just a recreational/commuting rider, and only started riding in place of driving around town toward the beginning of this past summer. When I rode, I rode an old huffy mountain bike; that was a heavy old thing, even after I swapped the steel front rim for an aluminum one just lying around in the garage. I decided this school year I'd try to ride to class each day. I dragged myself 3.5 miles to school via that old huffy for a month or two, and then decided a road bike would be a wise purchase. I found an early to mid 90's Trek 400 on the Waco CL and ended up paying $135 for it. I've never regretted that purchase since. Just last week I bought two CL bikes in the Dallas area, when I visited home for the holiday; One was a mid-80's Sekai 500 and the other a mid-80's Centurion Elite Rs. I'm thinking I'll convert the Sekai to a fixie, just to see if that's something for me, and I'll most likely sell the Centurion to a friend, as its just a bit small for me. The Trek will definitely remain my trusty commuter, though. I may get into the buy, fix, and flip hobby, as that seems to be a fun way to learn more about bikes. I'm always open to advice.

I've been using this forum for the past few months to find information on prospective CL buys, and to further research the ones I do end up buying. I thought now would be a good time to actually join the forum! I hope to expand my biking knowledge, and to better get to know some of you awesome fellow riders.

Until then, J Ped :thumb:
