My BB was starting to sound a little rough on yesterdays ride. So afterward I took the cranks off and spun it and it was not smooth, sounded gritty. Is this something that I can lube? I know the unit is sealed, so is there location to inject grease? Would it be easier to just get a new ultragra bottom bracket?

They're pretty cheap now, so I'd just get a new one.

I just bought a new one (Shimano, UN73) for about $35 US!!

Shimano cartidge BB units, like the UN-72 are non-serviceable. Just get a new one.
