Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. View Full Version : Lycra and "the package"

Sometimes on rides it can get a little boring and I make little games to keep my mind occupied. I've noticed when I'm riding around one of the local greenways and when there's pedestrian traffic coming in the opposite direction (toward me) and, if they're female I calculate the percentage of them who's stare goes directly toward "the package". It usually goes like this: They'll look up when they hear my bike, give me an overall look, and then, zoing! their stare goes directly between my legs as I ride by. It's just biology, I suppose, and doesn't really bother me one way or the other, but I've made a game out of it, purely for amusement.

So, some days it's as high as 80 percent. Some days it's maybe 20 (maybe no full moon that night). Sometimes I can almost predict when and who will do it. I've seen young girls do it and 70 year old women  . If there are 2 or more in a group, sometimes only one will do it and sometimes all of them. If I do multiple loops around the greenway (it's around a large reservoir) I've found that the ones who do it will do it again and again as I pass them. I don't even know if they're consciously doing it. Not trying to start a lewd thread here or anything, it's as I said, just a curiosity to keep my mind occupied.

It might be a lower percentage if you would wear your Woody the Woodpecker thong g-string on the *inside* of your cycling shorts...

Hmm. That would be an interesting study. Actually, I don't think anything would help - it's the "whole" package that makes just a general bulge. Besides, that sounds damned uncomfortable and I have other things to suffer about when I ride.

It may depend on the size (or perceived size) of the package they are looking at. I don't find that the bike shorts help anything look bigger.

Then stop padding your shorts with rolled up socks. ;)

Ok, ok...I think that I am just gonna have to see a picture of this "package" that all the chicks are so hot to look at. That way I will know exactly what is being talked about here.

(Hey, boyfriend...just think how many leers...err, I mean looks... you would get if you rode NEKKID!)

:p

I don't think riding naked is a good idea - one (or two) parts in the wrong place when sitting down could ruin your whole day. :(
