Mountain Biking - 08 Rock Shox Reba SL, is it ajustable?

I just found a deal on a 08 Reba SL Black/Gold The seller has it listed as a 80mm fork. From some of the research I have done , it seems many of those forks can be ajusted to 100 and 115 mm. The bike I want to install a new fork on currently has 100mm Manitou Axel. So does anyone know, can this forks travel be adjusted?

I think you can drop the height of just about any fork. At least any airfork. It's not part of the adjustable travel, but they can be rebuilt or otherwise altered to have less travel (giving the bike steeper geometry).

I don't think that a Reba SL is adjustable in the way you're thinking. It's an air fork, not a coil like most other U-Turn models from RS. There's not a lot of travel manipulation in those forks. However, an 80mm Reba might not be too bad to replace a Manitou Axel, depending on the relative axle-crown measurements.. I have that same crappy Axel, and I'm looking at other forks too.

Travel adjustment in Reba air forks is done internally, by either adding or removing travel spacers. I think that you can have the Reba at either 80 or 100mm, but you can't change quickly on the fly. Have to partially disassemble fork to change.

That was what I wanted to know, if the travel could be changed by adding removing spacers. Also I did not know that only the coil versions, not air, are the only ones you can change by turning a knob, good to know. The main reason i posted this on here, was because I had found a near brand new one for a buck fifty, was totally psyched to find a good deal. But then I found out the steerer has been cut to just over 6 inches, 2 in to short for what I need. :cry: That could be taken the wrong way for those with dirty minds. :roflmao2: Anyways thanks for the responses, I will just continue my search for a good deal on a new front fork.

Yes, all you need to do is pull apart the fork and pull out the spacer that is keeping it at 80mm. There are diagrams on SRAM's website. If you don't want to do it, any shop that works on suspension should be able to convert it for not too much money.
