how do you guys transport another bike? i have taken the front wheel off, shove the fork in a pannier, and bungeed it down before. just want to know what you guys do.

For short distances, ride one while holding onto the stem of the other. Otherwise, I usually bungee the front wheel to one of my folding baskets. I found out that using string or rope works much better than bungee cords, as the bike moves a lot less.

If you have a spare QR front hub laying around, zip tie it to your rear rack parallel to the rear hub. That way you can securely attach the fork of the trailing bike and then bungie the loose front wheel to the frame.

I saw a qr front hub lying in the metal shop at school today, I should ask if they need that...

I mounted a QR fork mount from an old Yakima tray on the rear bridge on my Dummy that seems to work well.

Similar to the ideas above, but specific to xtras and BDs

And roaster boy's would look like this in action, 'cause I did basically the same thing.

This is how I did it (not as neat as some of the other ideas in this thread)

I mounted a fork down mount on the rear of my Big Dummy.

Works OK.

I haven't done it yet, but I always thought mounting on of those fork mounts (http://www.amazon.com/Delta-Bike-Hitch-Locking-Mount/dp/B000ACAM9C) would work pretty well. Then just bungee the front wheel onto the towed bike.

Same idea as the extra front hub, but I think it would be a little easier to mount to the rack.

For a conventional-length, non-LT bike to tow another behind it, all one needs is a front quick-release axle, skewer, two axlenuts/cones/locknuts, a rear rack, a small chunk of wood, and some hoseclamps. Clamp the axle to the rack tube, with the wood sandwiched between.
Attach the second bike. *Carefully* mount. Pedal.

Using an entire front hub will require quite a bit more engineering, as it's not really bar-shaped. Then again, that might also work better with a wood block between the hubflanges.

Darnit, now you guys gave me another project!
