While visiting my parents in Yorktown, VA this summer, I came across this tandem parked on a boat at Yorktown Beach. Has anyone ever come across a tandem with this side by side configuration? If you have ridden one, how does it ride?? I love the concept but it seems like it might be a bit strange riding next to someone like this.

This is a two-person bicycle, but is not a tandem; "tandem" refers to one behind the other or single file.

Yeah, I realize it's not a tandem (one in front of the other) but I figured folks in this forum might have come across a bike like the one pictured in my OP. Plus, I didn't know what else to call it.

I really want to try one out!
