Folding Bikes - Loading a BF NWT

Hi guys
I asked BF how much load can I take on my NWT, because my dream is to make the Panamericana(don t know when maybe in 1,5 year).So I asked if I can take 4 ortliebs and a BOB Yak.
The answer
You can load 35lbs on each rack. We haven't officially tested for the
Bob Trailer, but my personal experience is that the Bike Friday rear
triangle doesn't support a heavily loaded BOB well, so if you are
pulling one I'd keep the load below 20 lbs. Two wheel trailers work
much better with our bikes.
So no so much....
Maybe will have to do it whit our BOB or anotehr bike... time will tell

There was a series of posts on the YAK regarding trailers. Roughly, the global conclusion was that pulling a single wheel trailer blows chunks relative to the two wheel trailer.

I don't know what the overall weight limit on the NWT is, you can get a fair bit more cargo capacity out of a large saddle bag like a Carradice. I own a Carradice Super C for my Pocket Llama, and load it with up to 10kg, although I am not sure on what its true weight capacity is. Given that it has a 23 litre capacity, its essentially a 5th pannier. I don't know precisely how much more gear above the 70lbs you are looking to carry, but that may be enough. The Carradice bags in particular are very waterproof and of good quality.

Abneycat I always carry 4 ortliebs and on the rear bags in each one about 15kg lus 5kg in each in front plus water and food that the reson I was thinking on the BOB

FYI, I also use a Carradice SQR bag. Bike Friday said that there is no issue with mounting it on the seat mast. If you think that four panniers is quite enough space, the additional SQR bag along with a handlebar bag might give you the extra capacity needed if a two wheel trailer will be too wide.
