Texas - Who rode in the snow this morning?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I woke up to large, wet snowflakes falling.
If I hadn't had to walk the dog and get people to school I'd have been out for a short ride.:notamused:
For you commuter's, it must have been an "interesting" ride judging from the number of accidents reported on the radio.
Hope you arrived safely and had warm, weatherproof gear.
I was out with the dog this afternoon. With the wind whipping as hard as it was I decided that I'm DEFINITELY driving to work tonight. A headwind is bad enough...having a frigid headwind coming home is not on the agenda this evening.

I rode about five miles and took the bus the rest of the way. When I got to work, there was an email from one our co-workers that said the heater in his car didn't work so he'd be at the house. We had a lot of fun with that one.

I still had rain on my way home from work at 6:30 this morning and I must have slept though the snow. Somehow, I don't feel disappointed, lol.
all I gotta say is Vittoria Nuovo Pro tires are squirrely in snow.

If it snows here tomorrow, the are giving it a 70% chance I think ill take a ride in it.
Woo Hoo! a HIGH of 39 predicted for tomorrow!
Awww...I'm so sad I don't have work on Thursdays or Fridays or I'd really be out there for sure.
Now I'm gonna be stuck in this nasty ol' house making soup and playing with the new dog.
I'm heartbroken.:innocent:

127560Just woke up to see this.
I work 3:30 to midnidght and don't have a car so I should be riding in the snow today. I guess it will be good training for my first cyclocross race tomorrow morning.

I would have ridden, but my snow bike is still on order...

Well this will probably one of the few times that my bike gets this stuff on it did half a lap around allen parkway trail before hands were about to freeze off and need something to cover my face. About as good as it gets here in houston. This has to be the earliest snow in the winter that I can remember.

I so don't envy your lack of fenders.
I remember the days when I lived in Pittsburgh, slinging wet slush and goo all over my front and back....

me and fenders don't get along I have broken three sets pretty much given up on them. which is a shame not only are they great for keeping dirt and water off they really add classy something to a bike. Last set I had managed to get caught in the spokes of the front wheel not sure what happened but was a big pain unraveling the alum fender out of the wheel. Rest I had just broke in the fender or at the mounts.
