I finally mounted up a new set of wheels last night and rode to work this morning on my fixed. It felt good. It'd been a little over too weeks since a car hit me, tacoing the front wheel and bending the back just beyond repair. My shoulder is feeling a little better too. I'd been riding another bike around but it wasn't the same. That and it was sunny in Seattle this morning. That was weird.

I was riding along a bike trail where it crosses a street as a crosswalk (westbound on the BG intersecting Brooklyn in Seattle). It was dark and raining hard, so I was being super careful as I went into this notoriously dangerous intersection. A southbound SUV had stopped for two bikes about 20 feet in front of me. Right as I went through the intersection, a car behind the SUV, not understanding why the SUV didn't move, passed the SUV on the outside and hit me. I bounced off the hood and landed a few feet away on the sidewalk. College student driver had seen the first two bikers but not me. She admitted her mistake.

I worry about that kind of situation happening all the time. I forgot my blinker at home the other day and on my ride home I was being super-careful to make sure cars, and the cars behind the first, saw me.

That sucks. Glad you are on the mend and back in the saddle.
I envy you dude. I broke my leg last week in a crash and my tibia is split, my ACL and PCL pulled from their insertion at the bone.
I'm off the bike for god knows how long.

^^^ ouch. Get well soon.
My biggest amazement and relief when I got hit was that I wasn't hurt worse.

Yeah I've heard of this. Let me give a little general PSA for anyone reading: If you get hit, even if you don't think you're hurt you should still get the driver's info. You may be in shock or something which makes you not realize your injury, or you could be bleeding internally.
I wasn't hit by a car, I was tricking around on a 20" and hyperextended my knee.
I don't ride 20" anymore, wtf was I thinking. A complete waste man.
