that's the same colour my bike will end up with. I used Chevrolet Orange Engine Enamel from Duplicolour. That ****e takes like 5 days to cure! And I still have to do the clearcoat. Or should I forgo that? Cuz that'll mean another 5 days before I can build it back up!

As for names...
1. L'Orange
2. Tang
3. Phunby

I love the orange. I think you should name it Nancy or Barb, which you could stencil on in navy script, with a heart on one side...if only to make people scratch their heads.

And progre-ss: don't skip the clear coat!!

Looking at it again - whatever you name it, get rid of those cable routers. They look like they could cause pain, and it doesn't really look like you're using them anyways...

Chuck Yeager's X-1 Bell airplane (the first to break the sound barrier) was very close in color to the bike. The X-1 had 'Glamorous Glennis' painted on the side:

How about "Oranjeboom" after the beer from the Netherlands...I don't know if it's still in production...I kinda think their barley fields got hit with the Chernobyl cloud. You could print this image and use it as your headbadge.

Just put the words "I've got plastique in my tires" on the side. You wont get in any trouble with the fuzz. I swear!

nameing a bike is serious business. Its something that should not be taken lightly... i think the best thing here is to pack up the bike and send it to ME... then I will ride it around for a while, figure out what the best name would be, then maybe send it back to you.... you can totally trust me!

its a nice looking bike, even though I have NOCOINS on the side of my fixie, I dont think you should do anything to this bike, its simple and beautiful.... dont even wrap the bars.

....meh, **** it, name is Kevin! (thats me!)

Just thought of another one...

Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

And then when they ask you why, you break into the knock knock joke that goes something like this (prolly doesn't need explaining but hey, I'll explain anyways)...

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
...and then you start again at...
Knock knock...

go on until you you see fit and then end with...

knock knock.
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange you glad I didn't say banana?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

Well, my kids thought it was funny!!

I second this. Agent Orange is also one of the better Depeche Mode instrumentals.

It's still around, and still pretty tasty. It's like a less skunked-out Heineken....given Dutch beer seems to taste jjust fine even with a bit of skunk, but still it's nice to have a beer without that unique tinge to the taste :)

Crap I've been known to drink Oranjeboom from time to time. I hope they are not radioactive, although it might explain why my weiner glows.

Spokey
Sproket-Face
"This bike eats facists" (not a name, but something interesting to write on the side)
All your minivans are belong to us (dumb, but funny to me)
Rojo Pinos (sounds grosser than it is)
Gear W h o r e (the board filters out the word unless I spell it like that. ;) )
Chain-Whipped
Shazbot
Zodebacher Special

I could go on for hours. I'm sure you'll come up with something great! Nice bike, btw. :)

peace,
sam

P.S. I agree that the cable stops are a bit odd looking. Unless you are wanting to keep the frame pristine for future use, I'd dremel the extra stops off, sand it smooth, and then touch up the paint before getting it clearcoated. Maybe leave the stops on for a front brake if you decide to add one or something, but definately ditch the ones for the derailleurs.

Okay, your search is at an end; I have the name of your bicycle.
*drumroll*

"Tangerine Dream"

If you don't like it I'll third the motion for "Agent Orange" and will add that I, too, like the Depeche Mode song by the same name.

I totally missed this one yesterday. LOVE it, its a great name. I say either "Agent Orange" or "Orange Crush" depending on preference. I used to drink Orange Crush like it was going out of style!

Enough with all these orange names. Go with something post modern, you know something that has nothing to do what so ever with the bike. So come on guys the signifier has absolutely nothing to do with the signified.

"Droog" (друг) means "friend" both in Russian (Русский) and "Liverpoolese" (that stuff they spoke in the book/movie). Therefore, I find this a very fitting name for your stallion... er... bike.

What was its name before? How about "The bike formerly known as <oldname>"? :D

Seriuously though, my vote goes to: Ambrosia.

Or if you're a geek, you can name it: #E47833. :D

"Liverpoolese" (that stuff they spoke in the book/movie).

You mean "Nadsat", and for the record, the movie was a total travesty.

I always name my messer bikes after Walt Disney cartoon characters.

My modified Cannondale Bad Boy (Ultegra group, geared 11-23) was called Pumba. The singlespeed blue On-One was Dumbo. My current Soma is Thumper

Oh, yeah. Nuts, me.
