Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Shoes and pedals

So I have two new bikes, and I'm having trouble deciding what direction to take with shoes and pedals. I've been using SPDs since shortly after they came out, and that's my preference. But I'd really rather ride in skate shoes. Exus used to make SPD compatible shoes that looked like skate shoes, but I can't seem to find anything similar today. Do I stick with SPD, or get a couple sets of track pedals with straps? Or just flats? Oh, one bike will mostly be run fixed, the other single speed.

Just wondering what you guys use and would suggest. Thanks.

Singlespeed just go straight flat pedals. Either SPD or clips for fixed- all depends on how adverse you are to changing shoes every time you want to ride the fixed bike. I went with clips.

Forget about straps. Get a pair of Shimano PD M324 or A530 (or similar knockoffs). Ride on the flat side on days you want to wear skate shoes and on the SPD side when you really want to ride.

Skate styled SPD shoes are easier to find than something more versatile looking (I'm thinking Adidas Sambas here which are fine in casual situations and if done right can also be pulled off in semi-formal situations). An inbetween skate and Adidas shoe would be something like Lake's MX90s (http://www.lakecycling.com/mx90-p-107.html).

Also, I can't seem to find them for sale but there seems to be some decently looking Nike Dunk-esque shoes.

those are the same one i have. they are not sealed. i opened them up, put good grease in them, re set the bearings, and now they are great. (and they look nice too)

I don't see the big deal, especially if the bike is brake equiped. Anyone riding a fg with skate shoes isn't planning on riding very fast anyway.
Personally, I hate clips and straps. A good pair of flats is perfectly adequate for just riding along. If you really want to crank it up or go long distance, clipless is the way to go. Clips and straps (with street shoes) are somewhere in between and not particularly very good for anything.

Why not get some MKS and add a powerstrap or something like it (feetbelts are great). That way you can ride in any shoe and be in there tight. I ride in sambas most of the time.
