Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - 1" aluminum fork?

Where can I get an aluminum road fork with 1" steerer? All I can find are 1-1/8" like these:

Or maybe I go with a Soma fork if it's lighter than most steel forks, but I can't find weights listed.

Not a full carbon one and especially not with a 1" steerer. Plus carbon is ugly.

Maybe you've never heard of paint before, but it makes all materials look the same.

Because
1. "Carbon" forks in that price range usually have a steel steerer and are, therefore, heavier.
2. Bonding of different materials causes weakness.
3. Chrome paint looks chintzy.

Unfortunately not nice enough to fit my headtube. Or were you referring to the cromo 1" Spicer fork (a bit heavy isn't it)?

Kinesis makes them, I picked one up at my LBS for about $80 or so. It is on the GT which is in my sig...

For my own edification- what bike is this fork going on that its being ridden hard enough that you are concerned with breaking a carbon fork off the steerer tube but also is so light weight already that a few grams difference in the fork's weight is a deal-breaker?

THAT fork's a good one, the only one I'd recommend. I've a feeling though, based on what chucky's stated, that it doesn't appeal to him.

The point IS that Alminum Forks are passe... NOT so good. THAT'S why most have been dicontinued.
I could tell you some horror stories but having not seen such with my own eyes, I'll forgo that.
Again.. jet's is OK. Aluminum forks, even swappin' the OE ones out for them, was all the rage in the late '80s & very early '90s.. 'till it was realized that they weren't so hot... not something to reach for'
OK, you hate Carbon, I can appreciate that. A chrmoly fork is MAYBE 2oz.s heavier than a chromoly AVG. I've exp. in such matters. 1" forks were the size long ago when pop., so most of those are gone.

Carbon Fiber or Steel, Aluminum would be a waste. My sister has a Cannondale and it came with an aluminum fork. We had gone on a ride and within an hour her hands went completely numb. A week later we swapped it out for a full carbon fork and the numb hands went away. If carbon's appearance is such an issue for you a can of black paint solves that...

I also have one and like it, but the problem is I need a longer steerer and they don't make them anymore. Does anyone know where to get a one with an uncut steerer?

More concerned about breaking the dropouts off at the fork ends with my hub brake. Plus I want the silver/chrome look.

If steel forks were only a few grams lighter than I'd go with one of them, but unless the Soma forks are particularly light then they all seem to be several hundred grams heavier than an equivalent aluminum fork, especially with the long steerer I require.

How can painting something black solve the fact that it's black? It doesn't.
