Given that she's from Newcastle, a can of Toohey's New and a big joint would probably be more appropriate.

If she is from Newcastle, why is she so overdressed?

I'm sore today. Really sore.

Last night I passed a cop pulling a pine tree out of the road, so I stopped and helped.
We both grabbed the tree and started pushing it but the base was going nowhere, so we ended up bending it into a pretty good arc--you see where this is going don't you?

Well, the tree broke right between me and the cop and I was to the inside--the tree snapped back like a bow, picked me up and moved me back about 4 feet and sat me down flat on my ass and hard. Real hard. Like if I had the ball I would have fumbled on that tackle hard. Like I now accept being one step closer to being a brittle old man hard.

It's on dash-cam too no doubt.

We used to do something like that with small trees when I was younger.....for fun.
Of course, the key word is younger. Take some alleve.

Getting ready to take my car for a three hour cruise ("a three hour cruuuuuuz! The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed..."). Going to pick up a jacket that I special ordered. Can't trust it to be delivered in this neighborhood.

No joke, I saw girls dressed that like in the grocery store there. Utah is not quite the same, even with the lake nearby.

Haha! Details, I want details!!

we were on my buddies farm when he said i couldnt shoot the rock off a steel bar from 700 yards without bending the bar so we went to one end of the farm and since the ground wasnt stable for a tripod i decided to use the door on his truck to stalilize the shot. after a few shots the sonic boom of the rifle got police attention about 5 or 6 shots in the deputy showed up and told us to knock it off, because the rifle i had wasnt registered they gave me a ticket for firing a rifle from a vehicle and confiscated the rifle. i got the gun back after paying the ticket and bringing the paperwork for the rifle. i shot the rock off yesterday after i upgraded the rifle to marine spec and changed the muzzle brake.

his challenge from me is to shoot a can from 1400 yards with his 8000$ yosemite sam cannon

well, that wasn't as fun as I'd hoped it would be.
most of the bike paths were actually plowed and everything on the path was melted.
that's despite 10cm and -8c constantly.
I guess it's because it's very bright.

Safe travels, Sixty.

I've decided I'm officially tired of always smelling like cigarette smoke even though I don't smoke. Went out into the hallway to talk with a colleague for a few minutes and I come back smelling like an ashtray.

Meh. Lots of HK is the same.

I'm cooking right now. A hearty winter soup. Started with some onion and some smoked pork. Will get some carrot and other goodies in there and maybe some barley. Almost a scotch broth.

25 minutes until my ride to the airport arrives... had popped over to the store to grab some snacks about an hour ago and when I went to use my bank card it said "contact bank" so I did that and was told my card may have been compromised and I had to go and reset my pin #.

The city is still buried in snow and it is -16C... I made like a messenger and set some kind of winter speed record making it downtown to my bank to reset my pin at the abm and make it home with some minutes to spare.

Would have sucked to have found myself in Oregon with no access to my bank account.

There are places where I haven't kissed The Girl although none of those would be found on her person... every step we take carries us to a new place and i figure that we are never in the same place twice.

Am now sipping a coffee and watching the snow fall outside on the runway as I wait to blow this Popsicle stand.

You know all those government jokes about people leaning on shovels while one guy works. We’re building a new beach restroom and need to install a vault for the sewer pumps. We dug a hole on the beach to see how deep the water table is at high tide. I looked around and we had,
Equipment operator
Laborer to direct the operator
Laborer to keep people from wandering too close to the back side of the equipment
Beach manager
Sewer Dept engineer
Sewer Dept inspector
Sewer Dept supervisor
Construction Project Manager
Contractor

My brother is in commercial roofing. He told me a story once of how he was in the president of the company's office discussing a job that they were bidding on, and a site foreman calls in to say that his crew somehow left the yard without any shovels to remove the ballast from a roof. Without missing a beat, the president grabs his radio and tells the foreman just to have the crew lean on each other until he can get there with shovels.

Do you have any job openings?

I qualify for a management position because I can talk on a cell phone while watching others lean on shovels.

But can you watch someone talk on a cell phone while they watch someone lean on a shovel? That's upper level management material right there.

We have a lot of construction going on right now, and I am almost amazed that the guys who have the highly technical job of holding a sigh that says Stop on one side and Slow on the other cannot get it right. Six times out of ten, it's turned at an angle so neither direction of traffic can easily see it.

At the office this morning... thanking God that the idiot woman driver tailgating me this morning didn't slide into the back of my jeep. The reason she didn't, I saw her tailgating me and I ran the redlight to keep her from hitting me. Luckily, no one was coming the other way.
