Hi guys and gals. I'm new here, 1st post! I've been reading the site forever and decided to join. I started seriously cycling and watching what and how much I was eating in Oct. of '07. I've gone from 268 lbs. to 170 lbs. today. There is alot of good info and motivation on this site. I've read and followed Toms story and it's amazing. He's what got me started in the first place. Anyway, I FEEL GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in Birmingham Alabama by the way. KEEP PEDLIN"

Thanks for the compliments guys. Slipknot, there are so many variables to losing. I only rode about 100 miles a week, that's all I have time for. My main hing was diet. I would eat just because it was breakfast time, or lunchtime, or dinner time. I've replaced that with a healthy breakfast, snack (raw veggies, fruit), small lunch, snack, snack, common sense dinner. I never really ate unhealthy in the first place but I would find myself eating for the taste even after I was full. The key for me is never feeling hungry. Snack throughout the day so you can keep you metabolism up and running. I felt at first like "man, I'm eating all day I'm never gonna lose anything", but it works. I've lost almost 100 lbs. but please get a physical done first and talk with your doc and let him know what your goals are. He may be able to give some advice. You DO NOT want to lose too fast or starve your body. That's is just asking for trouble. When I really started to notice the weight coming off, I didn't want to eat anything because I was scared that I may put on a 1/4 of a lb. haha! But have patience and before you know it, the old pics of yourself will gross you out! Mine do. Sorry to ramble, but I hope this helps

Im young so I got a high metabolism but I eat alot. I will probably eat smaller meals and snack around to boost my metabolism when I get my bike. Im plan on riding more then 100 miles a week since I have nothing to do at home.
Congrats on the big accomplishment.

Outstanding! Congratulations.
The weight doesn't go on overnight, and it doesn't come off overnight -- good job on sticking to it!
