Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Raleigh Technium worth it ya or na?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Found a Raleigh Technium looks like in good shape other than someone removed the drop bars and put a straight bar on, and seat does not look original.
Other wise it looks clean, it is on a bidding site and the price is at like 5$ with 2 days to go. but it will cost 75$ to ship. Good deal or shouldn't I bother?
I am willing to pay up to 150$ I guess.
It is a light blue color with downtube shifters 12sp, seikine cranks...I think
anyway here is the closest picture I could find to it.

Raleigh had a few Technium models, from super low end 440 to Team 753 Technium. What one are you asking about? The 440 does not worth $150 IMO. I did sold a pink 480 in excellent condition for $230 earlier this year. Hope this help.

If it has a SAhimano indexed drive train and you can get it for $150 shipped I'd say go for it. I'd sell as bike like that for ~$200+/- in Tampa.

It's frankened. $50 total might be worthwhile (you'd need about that much and a lot of bargain digging for bars, brake levers, tape and cables - and the only thing that you might get $5 or so from is the bar extensions). I wouldn't do it.

I agree. Maybe $75 shipped.
Unless you can pick it up (if you are local), price with shipping will be more than its value.
+1 Frankenbike: you will need a parts bin if you want to return it to traditional road bike form without dropping serious $$ into it.
Oh well, this (http://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=5585366) looks better anyway. But I dont live anywhere near there for pickup.
