Ok, as some of you know last year (april 3rd) i was hit by a car.

the result...

broken bike. it wasn't until november first that i had a bike that was rideable. took a while to settle with insurance... then i ordered a custom frame.. got it built it up...etc. so then i went on a 4mile ride... which ended up in ANOTHER wreck.... here's my custom made Steelman

Not *too* much damage but enough to make it unrideable.

So I finally got a replacement. It's not completely built up yet.... still needs a front derailer and new cables but here it is.

2004 Trek Project One 5500 with custom flame job (I got frame/fork for $1100... not too bad I hope?)

chorus ti seatpost
selle italia pro-link trans am seat
chorus rear derailer/cranks/brake calipers/hubs
mavic open pro rims
kestrel carbon fiber handlebar
record 10 speed shifters

i tried riding it around without a chain and only the front brake. if you haven't ever done that you'd be amazed at how much you use pedaling for balance!

thanks :) I need a rabbits foot or four leaf clover on it, that's the next upgrade

I've been away awhile (made me sick to read about bikes when I didn't have one) but I just wanted to thank you for having such an awesome forum here. Thanks Joe!

Looks like it needs a chain also. Nice bike - I like the mix even better than my own.

That Trek 5500 is hot. Hang it on your wall or maybe get the streets closed to cars for a few hours each day to ride!

Well, I commute from northeast knox to west knox. When I just go riding around, it's usually west. Just depends on my mood.

Ritalin,

A rabbits foot or 4 leaf clover does not work on a bike.
You need a champange cork drilled and hung from your seat rails
for good luck.

why would it need a chain? Riding chainless can really help you with your cadence.
Nice components by the way, first time I've seen a trek with campy components.

Was the Lightspeed Ti? Sorry about your bad luck, but at least you've got a nice bike. The OCLVs ride great. Looks amazing too.
