I am new to this forum and I am amazed by the waelth of information here. I started cycling about 2 weeks ago and picked up a brand new Giant OCR3 and accessories to go with it. I am planning on doing the "El Tour De Tucson" (111 miles) this November in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I am at 12 miles as of last week and I am shooting for 30 next week. I can see that I am becoming addicted to cycling. If anyone is interested in doing "buddy rides" do let me know. Also, if you are interested in more about the training program that I am participating do look up this site http://www.teamintraining.org.

I also invite you visit my personal page at

Happy Biking !

I saw a whole bunch of Team-in-Training riders heading south along Foothill Expressway this morning. Were you one of them?

Actually this week is not an official training week. This was more of an optional training week. Next week we are doing a 30 mile ride an I have been practicing in the Santa Clara area. What about yourself ? Are you an avid biker ?

Welcome to the forums. I have several friends racing in the El Tour De Tucson this year. Three of them live in Tucson, one in Valdosta, Georgia, one in Sumter, SC and one from Golden, CO. I'd love to race it this year but I burst my riding expenses with RAGBRAI this year.

RAGBRAI ! 7 days of riding is awesome. I am a novice to riding and I was not aware that riding was so much fun. I hope to raise the funds and also do the tour this year and who knows I might actually apply to the RAGBRAI next year.

nice to find another rider in the bay area! Someday we should arrange a Bikeforums bikes and beer ride :)

Are you an avid biker ?I've been riding on a regular basis since the late '70s. I lead a ride every Saturday and hang on for dear life on our club's Sunday ride. I try to get in at least one other ride during the week and typically ride between 150-175 miles per week. I guess that probably qualifies me as an "avid" cyclist.

Is the BF B&B an official or semi-official thing here? I'm kinda new here as well. Either way, I'd be down for a BF bike and beer ride. It'd be a good chance to meet others and see and maybe even try out each other's bikes.
