I think that the Regents, the past glory the current pressures and just flat out PRIDE, has killed Notre Dame football. It will have to die completely (10 Years) before anyone can rebuild it. No one put lipstick on that pig and make it dance.
No, but I wish it would. If they truly want to rebuild, then install a new coach, and give him/her 10 years to change the culture. I agree that the culture is broken. If they want to be a winning program, join a conference. If they want to make money, maintain status quo (other than overpaying underqualified coaches)
we can only hope...
Actually I don't care, I just want the obsession to end.
Texas does not concern itself with lesser levels of football................... what was your question again?

+1
But any program with those resources can repair itself if it wants to.

Get real! - him/her? Any female candidates even remotely possible? Is there even one female coach of a high school men's football team, anywhere?
If they want to make money? Notre Dame is rolling in money from their exclusive NBC TV contract. Of course they will have wheelbarrows more swag to share with nobody if they can get back into the BCS picture.

Oh you said SEC, I thought I heard you say Big 12.

With the right coach they could get it done. Does ND have tougher standards than Stanford?
