Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - A Few Questions

I'm fairly new here and have a few questions for anyone who may know.

If a post gets removed, will there be a gap in the message numbers, or will the messages then renumber themselves? E.g., if post #4 gets removed, will the list go #1, #2, #3, #5, etc. or will #5 become the new #4?

Is there a way to review all the new posts in a given forum at once, regardless of what thread they were posted on? For instance, I would like to be able to read a list of all new posts to the Touring forum from newest to oldest regardless of what thread they were posted on, if possible. That will save time as opposed to clicking on each thread in the Touring forum to find the new ones.

Often when I'm composing a message, by the time I hit "submit" I'm told that I have to log in again because for some reason I get timed out after a short period of time. Is there a setting somewhere where I can stay logged in regardless of how long it takes me to compose the post?

What exactly does "+1" mean? I gather it's a way of expressing approval of someone else's post but don't know where the lingo comes from.

Whenever I click on "Find all messages" on my own profile to see my own past posts, I get the error message, "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

However, it works okay when clicking on someone else's profile, just not my own. FWIW

+1 comes from people not wanting to type out the whole thing again or having to say "I agree".

If you tick the box saying "remember me" when you log in, it should remember you. I never have to log in - I have the box ticked.

Not sure if you can get all new posts in a specific forum, you can however click on "new posts" and get all the new posts across the whole forum. I do this as I get to see a lot of threads I wouldn't otherwise have found.

There will be a gap in the numbers when a post is deleted.

If you click the "iSpy" button just under the Bike Forums name, you'll get the latest posts from all the forums. Not what you wanted but that's as close as I could figure out.

Thanks guys. Other forums I've participated in always have the "Remember me" box already checked, and you have to un-check it if you don't want it. I'll just get used to how it's done here, to keep the cookie from expiring during a session.

As far as not being able to read my own archive, yesterday I couldn't read the archives of anyone who had signed up within the last month or so. Now, today, my own works and I can read them. Maybe the problem has been fixed.

Anybody know what the "Multi-Quote this Message" button is supposed to do? Cain't figger that one out.

I just saw someone else's note that there was a big upgrade on 11/18. That date also seemed to be the point before which I couldn't read a poster's archive... that is, I couldn't read the archive of anyone who signed up after 11/18. So, perhaps that was the issue. But regardless, the issue is now fixed. Thanks to the admins if that was indeed the case.
