I'd like to convert my Vision R-40 from USS to OSS. I know that Vision used to sell the parts to do this, and also that Rans had a kit to do the same on some of their bikes. I've hunted around some and haven't seen any Vision parts available, I;ve seen various shops selling Rans parts.
My questions are: 1. It looks to me that the Rans parts should work fine on the Vision, can anybody confirm this?
2. Does anybody have a second hand OSS kit that they'd like to part with.
Thanks in advance.

The stock Vision setup was praying hamster style. You can certainly get all the parts needed from various sources. The steerer is probably 1" threaded? Yes, you can get a threaded to threadless converter, and build it up using RANS parts. A Terracycles Glide-Flex stem would be more expensive, but a nicer more durable alternative to the flip-it.

Cat: it looks like you used a Terracycle Glide-Flex stem to make the conversion. The OP may want to know the source:

(FWIW: I'm friends with the Terracycle folks. That doesn't stop them from making some darn fine bicycle parts.)
