In the summer of 2010 (June 27th to Aug 7th), We are looking for 90 cyclists to ride road bikes across the United States to raise money and awareness for the water crisis in Africa. The program is a division of Compassion Corps called Wheels for Wells. www.wheelsforwells.org

The trip across the country is made up of 6 different tours.

Choose the tour that is right for you:
Week 1 Long Beach (Dana Point) CA to Cameron, AZ
Week 2 Cameron AZ to Walsenburg, CO
Week 3 Walsenburg, CO to Emporia, KS
Week 4 Emporia, KS to Mt. Vernon, IL
Week 5 Mt. Vernon, IL to Martin’s Ferry ,WV
Week 6 Martin’s Ferry ,WV to Ocean City, NJ

Weekly tour price: $2500
Full Cross Country tour $5200 (very few spots left)

The average water well/pump in Africa can cost $7,000 to $15,000. There are over a billion people world wide who have no access clean drinking water http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8QY4wMYE3Q The Majority are in Africa. This is our kick off event. We hope to do an annual ride after this to go from Philadelphia to New York. For more details go to www.wheelsforwells.org

It might help if you list the value of the support and amenities, so they know how much they are getting in service and how much they are simply donating. Also, big ticket fund raisers like this are usually better when you have the riders get pledges to raise that amount. You may want to talk to the AIDS/Lifecycle people about that.
