Folding Bikes - thinking about getting a good folder

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am thinking about selling my cross check and buying a Pocket Rocket Pro or a Moulton tsr 30. What I would really like is to buy a Moulton frame or a bike friday frame and put my parts on it, but these companies don't sell the frames alone.

You can buy Mouton framesets .. either fixed or separable .. V-Brake or Side pull - they are just not inexpensive .. range is from roughly $1900.00 to $16k (Double Pylon stainless steel) ... pm me if interested ..
I would also consider a BF Pocket Rocket Pro with Titanium Swan neck and Carbon fork to put my own components on.
Also Airnimal Frame or Pacific reach framesets would be interesting.
The Moulton is not foldable enough and too pricey.

Sort of the opposite end of the spectrum!!!
My wife preferred this one:

However, that's just because of the "look" of it. The construction and ride would NEVER compare to either of her Bike Fridays!
Would seem like a Friday or a Swift might be good middle ground between these Walmart bikes and a Moulton.

Bruce ... are all Moulton framesets the same size? What happens if a short/tall person wants to ride one?

Frames are all the same size.. setback seats/posts and long stems are the order of the day for longer body frames.. and the opposite for shorter body frames.. what might make a difference over most other folders is that the Moulton has a 43" wheel base .. that would give one the ability to move the body forward or back between the wheels a bit more without upsetting the normal ride characteristics ... the long wheelbase also contributes to its excellent tracking and high speed handling ... the other spec which stands out if you are a larger rider is the 265lb rider weight capacity..
