Someone said GMR was closed this morning. The gate was locked across the road.

Where can we find updated information?

Looks like another route would be Encanto to 39 to East Fork to Little GMR to Glendora Ridge Rd to Baldy.

How is this ride as an out and back?

That's a great route. I like to turn it into a loop by descending Mt. Baldy road and taking Foothill (I think) back to Encanto. Water stop at Camp Williams along East Fork.

I believe we did this as the Bloat Ride few years back but we descended Big GMR rather than going back on 39. I think it was 67 miles with 6200ish ft of climbing.

If you can handle GMR to the village and back no problem, this should be an enjoyable ride for you!:D
