Are there any AA lithium ion rechargeables under development?
I use a lot of AA batteries (in my Fenix L2D, for example) and would like some that hold a longer charge.

I think they make the size, 14500, but the voltage of a rechargeable lithium is 3.7 (4.2 off the charger). http://www.batteryjunction.com/protected-14500-lithium.html

For the time being, your best bet would be to switch to 18650-powered lights like a TR-801 if you want a flashlight with more runtime.

Olight does a 1 AA LED flashlight that can use any type of AA battery or the 14500 battery. It is the I15 Infinitum model. Claimed 140 Lumens maximum with AA and 205 with the 14500 battery.
