Hello again - posted twice previously, once about breaking my leg from a low speed tumble off my bike, and later about getting a couple of additional stress fractures in the same leg from moving before the original break was knitted
Anyhow, I seem to be healing up ok. Advice, which I'm following, is to keep weight off the leg for a while yet. I went for xrays today which indicate that the healing is progressing well.
All was fine until a social meeting this evening (at a Carol concert, very pleasant) with a South African medical friend.
I like South Africans. I like Geordies. I'm a Yorkie. I like people who talk straight.
He asked after me. He's a medic. I explained. He commented. I summarise with some forum acceptable abbreviations ( I trust)
'Buxxer me. You been 40 blxxxy years on insulin. You got bones like blxxxy balsa. You snap a bone, the biggest in your blxxxy body, for no blxxxy reason. Then you think you're ok so you start blxxxy strutting around like a blxxxy buxxer. So it blxxxy snaps again, so no surprise there.
'Now you want to get back on your blxxxy bike again. Well, blxxxy good luck, but the next time, you're buxxered'
So, I think I'll take that as a 'full speed ahead'. Wouldn't you?
