Like the title says...1995 Cannondale F700 won't lock out. Not sure what the deal is or what happened. The bike hasn't been used in a long time. I was playing around on it and the lockout was working and then now all of a sudden the lockout knob just spins and the shock won't lockout. I like the lockout but just have never really used it with my type of riding.
I've had it apart and pulled the cartridge out but not sure what I was looking at. New cartridge? Can those even be purchased anymore? Just ride it and not worry about it?
Not interested in upgrading to an aftermarket shock. Would like to keep the solution to around $50-$100

Take it to a Canondale dealer. They may be able to crack it open and rebuild it for around $65, at the very least they will be able to examine the o-rings and wiper seals and tell you if they're toast. If they are, some replacements are still available from Canondale depending on the model (don't know off-hand) for a reasonable price.

Worst case scenario: you get a fork upgrade to a current level headshock for around $300--pretty good deal for a shock that comes on a $1k bilke.
