Introductions - Hi

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. As the name says I'm from Las Vegas, NV USA
been riding since I was a kid and never really stopped ;)
currently I have a 1990ish GT all terra mountain bike, (which I am restoring to it's former glory) and I am building a new road bike which will be my main ride for a while. Always looking for new trails and people to ride with, drop me a line if you live in vegas =)

Hi, VegasCyclist, welcome to Bike Forums--a lot of forum members have both road and MTB's. I hope you can post or link to photos of the road bike you're building! And this is definitely the place to come to if you need opinions on components, etc.

Happy wheels, and post often! :)

Welcome to the Forums VC.

How far can you cycle in Vegas? I always thought it was stuck out in the middle of the desert.

That just shows my ignorance I suppose. :)

Just the person I was hoping for!!

My wife and I will be coming to Vegas March 25-29 and will bring our bikes. My wife is a very casual rider at the moment, and we are looking at doing the 13 mile Red Rock Canyon loop (never been there).

We want scenic, nature-oriented rides with little vehicle traffic, if possible off the road. What would Red Rock Loop be like, traffic-wise, about 7 am on a weekday morning? Is is flat, hilly or steep.

Any other ideas??

my project road bike. It's a leader frame and mostly shimano ultegra parts. Probably most people have not heard of leader (nor had I until I got it) the frame was only $99 and I figured I'd give it a try. as you can see I still am awaiting my rims, and forks.

and as for places to ride in vegas... there are plenty, not only just in the city but also near lake mead, red rock canyon and various other places. I stick to mostly the city and select desert areas where construction has not touched. :D
