I normaly ride 30-40 miles every other day and tomorrow I am doing a longer ride (60-80 miles) I will take it easy but want to know how long I should ride before I eat? I noemaly drink every 15 mins (Gatorade) but dont eat on these rides (takes me about 2 hrs).
I bout 2 cliff bars and would like to know when to eat or what signs my body will give me to tell be to eat :)

I usually eat after about 30 miles, then keep eating lightly for the rest of teh ride.

Just like they do with rest stops in long organized rides (centuries), eat something every 15-25 miles.

I eat on rides that are going to be longer than 2 hrs, approximately each hour starting at the end of the first hour. I shoot for 250-300 calories per hour.

Particularly with solid food (as opposed to gels), you're eating for the next hour, i.e. to give your body time to process the food. When your body starts giving you signs, the damage is done. In my experience, gels get into your system faster, but you still need to consume them in anticipation of, rather than in response to, your needs.

Yeah, it is absolutely incredible how different the world is when you lose thsi much weight. I'm working on the before picture. I don't know if I have any of me at my heaviest, but I have one of me at about 315 or so. I'll post it in a new thread after I scan it.

I actually emailed Trek about an endorsement deal. They weren't biting, though. :(
