i placed an order for a set of tires on the 3rd

the online order status still shows 'in process'...

have they already shipped out my item and are slow with the status update? will i get a shipping confirmation/tracking (used cheapest option)?

im kinda anxious... my current tires has a nice patch ripped off from the surface and does not afford me a lot of assurance

try emailing them and asking for the shipping number.

they usually ship using FEDEX so you will be a tracking number even on the cheapest shipping option.

Were the items in stock? Their "online status" can take a couple of days to get updated, but "in process" is halfway there.

redfooj.. i just bought the performance flatbed bike rack from there... and i has to wait a hella long time for them to ship. i called them and complained.. and the next day i see it on process status. but 3 days later it was shipped... but no data on shipping till 1 day later.

bottom line is.. my first time buying experience from them is really crappy and disappointing.

It would be nice, but they say their system only updates status nightly, and I'm guessing that only happens on weeknights. Despite that, I've got my stuff in a reasonable amount of time. Hey, some shops don't have online order status checks at all....

Call them and ask - they have a 1-800 on their website.

I just ordered some tires from them that were on sale. I got the bike club 2-day shipping, and they arrived on time. However, I wasn't charged the correct price. They charged me almost double the sale price, plus more in shipping charges. I called Customer Service, they said they've been having problems with the website & would credit my account for the price difference that day. When I checked my credit card account a couple of days later the credit was already reflected there. So they resolved the problem quickly. But I don't understand how their system can charge a different amount than your approved order.

I order stuff from them all the time, simply because they have decent buys on clothing and they're one of the few online vendors that uses U.S. mail. That's the only courier that will deliever large packages to my apartment during business hours. All other couriers either leave it in the front foyeur for all to see (and steal) or leave me a note while I'm at work and return it to the sender after 3 failed attempts.

Since I only use USPS I never get any delievery confirmation or tracking info. It just appears in my mailbox after a couple weeks. I've been generally satisfied with Performance's service, thus far.

I cant say my experience has been that bad, just kinda frustrating, I ordered rear & front deraileurs/ bottom bracket/ and a crank, chain, cassette combo (which wasnt any cheaper than buying each sperately). The cassette was the only item backordered, and the only item i dont really need to fix my bike, so I emailed them and asked if they could ship everything at once and then ship the cassette when its in stock (8/6 it said on the website). I told them that it would make alot of difference to me as a customer. The response I got was a short note saying "sorry we cant do that cause you ordered the crank & chain in a combo." I think it would have been a pretty easy work around to make me satisfied. BTW I dont know how they arent losing money on the shipping cause it cost me $10 and so far Im getting 3 separate packages.

and a HUGE thumbs down for performance! it took them 1 full WEEK--yes, one full WEEK--for them to start shipping out my tires. mind you, that this set of tires cost more than most new bikes at walmart.

unbelievable... with nashbar/jenson/cambria.. i get my stuff over the weekend. with performance i wait the whole week just for them to "process"

My last order, which was my first (?), took 29 days to arrive. Shipping was free; you get what you pay for.

mlwschultz; thanks for the heads up about their web prices. I ordered last Thurs and then read this thread so I made a point of double checking the invoice in the box that came yesterday and they overcharged me by $18 not giving me a sales price on a hydration pack.

My first order from them was almost my last because the std shipping was so slow, I think it ended up taking over 2 weeks! Only reason I went back was because I bought the team membership to get the extra 10% on the first order. I've ordered a couple of times since then and it's always arrived 2 biz days later.

I recently ordered 1 item from Nashbar and one item from Performance.

Nashbar: Processed day 1, shipped day 2. Arrived within 5 days USPS.
Performance: Processed 3 days, shipped day 5. Arrived yesterday. (15 days later) USPS

I have been a loyal Team member for a long time, but lately their service is in the toilet. My last two orders have been held up because their system changes my zipcode to my old address so it doesn't match the credit card, although the email confirmation of the order show the correct address. When an order is held up, they don't call you to let you know, they just let it sit there. One of the orders "is not in their system" accourding to customer service but I have the email confirmation with the order number and all the details. I have sent four emails to customer service with zero replies. I have left my phone number with their custormer service department for a supervisor to call me back which they never have. I sent one email to the web manger dept. to try and correct the zipcode proplem and they never responded.

I think I am done with Performance. Ya I liked their products and the two day delivery but they just don't know how to run an online business. I'd rather pay a little more to do business with professionals.

performance has some great products.. but they just don't cut it in shipping. that's why i've been hestating in joining their membership. i placed one order, and the experience is enough for me to not want to deal with them again. nashbar on the other hand had a better shipping than performance. that one i might consider dealing with again. but kinda odd since they are the same company, you would think they would both be good. oh well...

why... so im not alone with my displease... i had no idea beforehand. i shopped there because of the 20% coupon.. in retrospect i could have used that 20% discount towards shipping at other places and been much happier

exactly! i've shopped at other places where their ground shipment (either ups or fedex) will arrive here in 5 days or less.

I ordered 3 small items from them on 7-31, all in stock, via normal "to business" shipping. They arrived yesterday afternoon (8-9). The online order status was not updated until the day before (lot of good that does). I called once, and the support person didn't have any more info than I could get from the web. She made it sound like they had to manually enter the shipping data. They really need to move into the 21st century. 10 days doesn't sound like much, but I expected it would be quicker than that, and it seemed like forever!

You are just lucky. That's how it's supposed to work, but there is maybe a 20% chance that things will go smoothly. The Performance Customer Service person told me point blank that it was not a good idea to order on the web because their orders get screwed up so often.

I placed an order on Saturday using a 20% off coupon and to take advantage of their double team points. The order was shipped out yesterday FedEx 2nd day. I'll have it tomorrow. I've been using Performance for 4 years and have had one problem with them. One phone call and I had the situation cleared up and the right part the next day.

For those of you that have had problems with Perormance, keep in mind that any business will have the occasional problem. Research has shown that if someone has a problem with a business, 80% of them will tell someone, whereas if someone has had a good experience, only 30% will mention it.

I have ordered from Performance twice. The first time everything (it was a BIG order) arrived in two business days. This past weekend was the second. I'll reserve judgement on that one for now.

I've ordered once from Nashbar and it took them a week to ship an in-stock vest.

my orders that are placed before their cut off times are always shipped that day and shipped 2nd day.

i too placed an order this past weekend for the double points... it shipped out on monday and i received it yesterday.. right on time.

unfortunately a couple of items were discontinued :( but they offered to let me order different shorts with no shipping.. i received them today...

i don't have a problem with performance!
