I have been single speeding since 1986, I have a 1984 model Manitou mountain bike 1spd and a Klein sport comp 1spd, I raced for Manitou and Interloc bikes for a couple of years on the professional curcuit ( norba) but now I just like to go out and kick roadies asses, you should see the look on their faces when they realize the guy pulling the pace line is riding a 1spd bunch of whimps oh yeah I'm 52 years old, how many roadies can climb a 6% grade for 17miles with out shifting I can, Bring it on, Hurricane ridge in Port Angeles is it.I'm riding a 44/16 There is only need for 1spd, happy trails Bruce

That is quite an accomplishment in regards to Hurricane ridge. Your next challenge should be Dear Park Road - all the way to the top! It was a whole year before they found that one bicyclist that went over the side. Almost went over myself with the car when the engine quit.
