If I calculated Euros to U.S. currency correctly, these things are expensive, about $2500, but perhaps of interest to someone. If nothing else, it's a cool idea.

I didn't see a pricetag anywhere, but $2500 sounds preposterously expensive for that. Interesting idea though. See also:

this one looks like it'd make a better bike trailer.

ever try setting a tent? there are even pop-tents that spring open to shelter.
probably much lighter to carry than shelters you post.
also, check hostels and wsl in areas toured in europe, etc.
look at your options and adjust as needed.

I'd rather use a tent -
More room, less weight, less expensive.

lot of motel rooms can be purchased for $2,500. Maybe a better choice woud be a Nice tent and motel fees for 50 nights at an average rate of $40 a night.

Agreed. Most of those things look like they would be best in colder weather. I'm guessing ventilation would be poor in hot weather.

I got it off the original website which I can no longer find.

I didn't consider ventilation, but was thinking the opposite. Sleeping on metal, even with a pad, during winter would be rough. It would probably be an oven in one season and a freezer in another. If the cyclist has money there are other easier and lighter alternatives and if they don't then they have to wait for someone to give them one.

...And I didn't think about the coldness of metal.:)

Perhaps someone who has used one of these will weigh in on the subject.

Interesting, if impractical for the reasons already noted.

But what is with the other carts on that German site? Most of them have casters rather than wheels. Moving them around on anything but smooth concrete would be impractical. What are their purposes? Temporary housing for the homeless? But they would take up almost as much room in storage as they would in use.
