A while back I had my Brooks B17 Special Green.I love the way it look but it was hurting my butt so I sold it.But after I took it off I saw why but it was to late I had it sold it was my lost.So today I went back to my LBS and got my self a new Brooks B17 Special Green just like the one I had.But this time I was very careful putting it on and I took it out for a little test ride and at this time it does not hurt. The problem I had was I was sitting on the rim of the seat no wonder it was killing my butt lol.So I was out another 135.00 for a new seat.Guess I had it coming to me.People here told me to give it time but no I would not listen so it cost me.Thats my story.:roflmao2:

Not sure why that's funny. Why was you out another $135? You sold the other one so you'd only be out the difference between the first one and what you sold it for plus this saddles cost.
I know this is too late, but next time buy your Brooks saddles from Wallbike.com. They have a 6 month return policy.
"sitting on the rim of the seat" ???
"sitting on the rim of the seat" ???
Yeah, I was wondering about that, too -- Brooks making toilet seats now?

idontreallyunderstandwhypeopletypelikethiseither. It's really annoying to read. And I don't understand why it's supposed to make me laugh. And I don't understand "sitting on the rim".
He's talking about the metal frame at the rear of the saddle:

That's it, Yan. Riding the rivets. One of the few problems with the b-17 is that it can't be set very far forward. On one bike, I solved the problem by going to a Thompson Elite, which has zero, or very little set back. On the other, which has a very nice Salsa seatpost, I finally took off the Brooks and went with a Terry Cite Y.

And also, with a leather saddle, it's like a new pair of shoes, it takes a while to break in.
I had a Brooks B-17, but eventually the leather ripped away from the rivets. It spent too much time outdoors in the rain, but I was in the military, living in a baracks, and the bike was chained to a bike rack outside. So it got rained on. But it did last a long time, and it was the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden on.
No, wait, I think I had a Brooks B-72... ? It was wider than the one in the picture.

To paraphrase Bruce Lee, "When he points at the moon, look at the moon, not at his finger."
Been searching for something related to this. I guess I'm riding the rivets. I love my Brooks, but some rides, usually longer, I actually scrape my cheeks and once it starts, I can't get comfortable for the rest of the ride. Should I try and put the saddle back a shade? Should the tilt remain the same?
Thanks.

Yeah, push it back. You want your sit bones to be on the leather, not the rivets.
