I think some of the LCF folks will be interested in a new magazine called Bicycle Times. They just celebrated their first year of publication. The main emphasis is utility biking, commuting and urban riding. The reviews and ads emphasize less expensive products, mainly.

I discovered it a couple of months ago. Definitely closer to my tastes than any other bike magazine.

I picked up my first issue last month. It's incredible how a simple startup magazine like this is better than Bicycling after just one year.

I discovered it this past issue.. The article dealing with touring through Pennsylvania was interesting.. Think I am going to pick it up as a regular.

I'm going to subscribe also. A single issue at my LBS (local BOOK store) is $4.95, but a one year subscription--four issues--is only $10.

$10? I'll bite, As long as it doesn't turn into Bicycling Magazine. Ewwww.

{Edit..] although it's by no means obvious how to subscribe. I thought I would send in a gift subscription to myself, but they wanted my credit card number. They should really set up a Paypay link.

Meanwhile... maybe I can find an address and just mail the money.

Just swipe one on the blow-in cards from a copy in the bookstore and send it in via US post.

I noticed it in my bookstore. I skimmed through it, what I saw, I liked.

I emailed them and got the magic link. If you are paranoid about your CC number, you can opt for "Bill me later".

Fantastic mag. Nice to see a mag aimed at everyday cyclists, not just 16oz carbon titanium frame junkies

It's a really good magazine! It's made by the Dirt Rag people.....That's why it's so good from the get-go. Dirt Rag has been around for, like, 15 years and it's not turned into Mountain Bike Action, so that's a good sign this one won't turn into Bicycling magazine. Definitely worth a look!

I love! I subscribe. Truly wish publication was more frequent. It is more for the commuter. Other bike magazines are too overwhelming. I am always disappointed: road bike ads, expensive gear way out of my price range, long drawn out ride narratives which really aren't that great to read and bike technical terms I don't understand. I have found Bicycle Magazine really difficult to read--the journalistic writing style for the rides is really not pleasure reading. I think you have to know the authors, know their personalities ---they seem to be writing for a unique personal audience.

This magazine is marketed for average commuter. I am anxious to receive another issue.

I love to read (librarian) and am always on the look out for good reading.
