Road Cycling - Specialized Roubaix

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am thinking about buying this bike...either the Elite (alum/carbon) or the Comp (carbon). I have been test riding lots of bikes lately, and this one just feels the best (fit, ride etc.). I am mostly a recreational rider, a couple of century rides per year. Maybe some credit card touring. No racing.
Any opinions on this bike-good or bad would be appreicated.
Thanks

My wife has been riding a Specialized Roubaix Comp for several months now. The ride is VERY comfortable compared to my Litespeed Vortex! I don't know whether the Zertz vibration-damping inserts work, but the bike is a godsend on long rides through rough roads. Despite the comfort, the frame is stiff enough for serious out-of-the saddle climbing.
You definitely can't go wrong with Specialized Roubaix! Looks HOT and rides SWEEEET!

I've been riding the Roubaix Comp for several months and completley love this bike. It rides smooth, yet is very responsive. You can ride all day on this bike or sprint.

I have the Roubaix Elite and LOVE it. I must have tried a dozen bikes during the buying process, and this one felt just right...
I am also a recreational rider, but I didn't want to compromise comfort for speed or vice versa ... I don't regret it.... plus the bike looks great...
I take it on the rough streets of Manhattan, along the shore or through the hills of NJ and it responds very well.
There are a couple of (very positive) reviews of the Roubaix in Bicycling magazine (March and July), they named it one of their best buys for the year.
Let us know what end up doing... you are on the right path!

I LOVE my Roubaix comp triple bought in early June. It flies up hills effortlessly: I haven't been in the small chainring yet. My long ride is up to 75 miles with none of the back and shoulder problem I had on my old aluminum bike after 25 miles. It's added 2.5 mph to my local triathlon speed. Beautiful (I named it "Black Beauty", fast, climbs like crazy, supremely comfortable, fits great. If this bike fits it is dynamite.
