Commuting - Maybe Next Month

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just when I thought commuting season was almost here again the weather turns. Last Sunday it was 60 degrees farenheit in Wisconsin. Yesterday we had 10 inches of new snow on the ground and this morning it was -6 degrees farenheit.
I have a long commute so I usually wait until April so I can ride with more sunlight. I still don't like riding in traffic on city streets in the dark.
However I still want to ride on weekends and this weather just doesn't do it for me.

While you're freezing and waiting to get out and ride, I'm in Perth, Western Australia enjoying perfect riding weather.
Of course the flip side is that when you finally get the chance to get out and about - I'll be putting on the wet weather gear and looking for a heater to throw myself on at the end of each ride.
Maybe we could all have a few homes dotted around the world so that we can always enjoy perfect cycling conditions.

Sorry about that, BJ. For me, tomorrow will hit low 60's, next day will hit mid 60's and Friday will be almost 70. We are about to break out of this "winter thing."
:smug grin:
I'm sure you're not far behind...
;)
It's about 60º in KC, and has felt the most like spring of any day this year, today. I sat outside the cafe with my jacket open and drank iced tea.
I've gotten more x-c skiing in during March than I did in January! Skiing at 0 degrees F last night and its suppose to be back down there again by the weekend. Ah, there's nothing like Spring!
Harrumph.
Last two days here have been lovely. And now the wind is back. Grrr...
Mind you, heard the Forth Road Bridge was closed again last night, so Chewa must have it worse than me!

This sucks!!!!
We get a few days that are nice and ridable, a little chilly but ridable then I wake up this mornig and it's snowing like crazy! It's supposed to be crapy weather all week!
Oh well, now I have no excuses so I guess I'll do the housework.
Maybe next week;)
Yeah, last night's snow really was a bummer. I was hoping to ride today, but now, forget it! Maybe tomorrow?
Got in a 20 mile/32km ride today - temp about 55f/13c.
Wind was brutal on the open stretches.
Felt pretty good though.
Well Wednesday was 28ºC/82F and Tuesday was 32ºC/89F very nice indeed, although I have noticed it's starting
to get darker earlier now. So I better make the most of the last few weeks of day light saving. Then it will be
back to riding in with lights for a few weeks after 6pm, before I go in to winter mode and start
riding to work in the mornings, taking advantage of our mild winters and full sunlight.
Luckily it doesn't snow here, and a VERY cold day is 12ºC/53F:D
How you guys live with snow is beyond me, I couldn't handle it.
CHEERS.
