Any Gus Van Sant fans out there?

Well, I saw his movie "Elephant" the other day and it was amazing. I prefer the well writen/good directing movies over the blockbusters anyday.

Im not gonna get into the plot, but every High School kid should see this movie. They should show it in classes.

Is it disturbing? i rented it the other day, but my girlfriend didn't want to watch it because she read on the back that "a typical high school day turns tragic". she refuses to watch anything disturbing, violent or tragic. looks interesting to me.

Yes, its very distrubing but the directing and acting make up for it. Most of the kids in the movie were regular kids, most using their regular names in the movie. Even the music (Fur Elises by Bethoven I think) added to the mix. Just the way its put together with the editing, how some scenes were played like 3 times,a ll in different perspective of the kids.

The very end was disturbing but its real life I guess.
