Ok, I rode up that road few times and I didn't realize there was a skull carved in to the side of the mountain until this weekend. Even then someone had to show it to me. Anyone else who rides that road not aware of it?

EDIT: I meant to say WOLH.

It's been there a long time. First time I saw it was at least 5 years ago.

That thread is very worthy of a cross-post, especially the later pictures. Even though our bikes weigh a fraction of the weight of a moto, I dont know that we could beat some of those 'poses'

First one on BF Norcal to post a pic with his/her bike (non-motorized) next to the skull wins!

What the...? I've never seen that! And when I go up WOLH, I'm going REAL SLOW!

I've never seen that, either! Now that I know it's there, I wonder how hard it would be to miss.

Ha! I spotted it my first time up WOLH on my moto. I always missed spotting it on my roadbike and like genejockey, I'm always going slow uphill.

A lot of people miss the skull because they are enjoying the great view of the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the road.

The Chain Reaction home page has a photo of the WOLH skull, along with some Freds admiring it: http://www.chainreactionbicycles.com/
