Another D'oh, sorry for not posting the bike type. 88 or 89 Specialized RockHopper.

What's with people assuming that people here know what a specialized rockhopper or a trek ###, or whatever, is?

I'm guessing a good number of the helpful people on this thread would know nothing about my bike based on the fact that I said it was a "miyata." What's more informative to a lot of people is that it's a fairly typical road bike.

So, folks, please, if you want good advice, give a useful description of your bike like "1980s mountain bike" or "2001 road bike".

Here, I fixed it:
" 88 or 89 Specialized RockHopper, *which is a late 80's all steel fully rigid mountain bike*."

Next time I'll just waste bandwidth on a picture.

Anyone who has anything useful or helpful to post will know what a Rockhopper or Trek XXXX is. Treks are the easiest because if you are familiar with the numbering system you also know whether its a road or mountain bike and around what the approx. vintage is. Next time you forget to post a detail I'll be sure to create another seperate thread where I quote you and try to make you look stupid.
