Very old bike, or old for myself. Putting on bullhorns and Pro-Dgn aero bars c/w bar end shifters. After hardwares are installed I am hoping to do an overhaul and get it ready for ride next year. In terms of chain and cables, can you still get them for 7-spd?

Second issue, there are some rusting on the front derailleur cage, any suggestions or is it not something I need to worry about...?

Thanks

That's the road bike I ride. I can send you my old derailleur if you want it!!

You should be able to get the 7 speed components.

That's my bike too.

Does the year determine the color? Mine is purple/clear carbon.

The above shot looks yellow/green/carbon. When was that?

Let's start a T2300 club! Pics to follow.

BTW: I LOVE THIS BIKE!

Hey,

My 2300 is that same color green and yellow. I just blew the dust off it about a week ago and started riding again.

Purple and clear carbon weave frame that came with Shimano Ultegra level components & Look pedals was just a 2300 (I had one - photo below). The 2300 Pro came with DuraAce group (also had one of these, alas no photo). There were Purple / clear weave 2300 Pros in later years ('92? or '93?) as well as the very dramatic hi-vis yellow/clear weave/green machine 2300 Pros. The 2300 Pro's had different decals to go along with their upper-end group.

That's the road bike I ride.

You know what the interesting thing is about that picture?

Both of those bikes were actually made by the same folks.

Wow I didn't think there would be any response at all!

Anyway, my setup will be very much like Tree Trunks except for bullhorn bars, instead of drop bars. "Bike fitting" is this weekend so hopefully all will be well...
It was going to cost over $1000 CDN to put on Shimano 105 gruppo and a few friends suggested changing it to a triathlon bike and I got a set of 7-spd bar end shifters.
The aerobars are Pro-Dgn "Split Second Al" while the bullhorn I believe is Syntace Stratos with Tektro levers.

Pray for me nothing goes wrong!!!

Saddles...? I am hoping to get a new saddle for the bike as well...

I saw a Fi'zi:k, or whatever that name is, their Pave saddle. It seems pretty good, more attractive is the price. What do you guys think?
