Not sure what all else I may end up doing in 2010, but I just booked a week with a 2009 Madone (rental) in Maui. Apparently there is some 10,000ft of climbing sort of mountain there calling to me.

My wife has a business trip and I'm tagging along and either had to come up with something to do on my own or hang out with the other spouses at the spa.... Hopefully this doesn't count as my one and only cycling vacation for the year... of course if it did I'm not sure I should complain. :)

What cycling related travels to yutes have in mind for 2010?

Dunno,
trying to decide between the Adirondacks, Northeastern Maine (a loop that goes by Campobello) or some sort of trip through the lakes region.

My vacation plans for 2010 is to...well...continue to go to work like a good little employee.

When I'm commuting would that count as a cycling vacation?

Thinking of giving an overnight out and back trip up the C&O Canal Towpath a try to get my toes wet in the touring world. Baby steps, right?

Will probably look into getting a car rack for the bike so that if/when we go camping in the Shenandoahs this summer I can bring the bike along and ride (a relatively flat :)) part of Skyline Drive...

No plans other than that. I think the rest will depend on finances and the "toe-dipping" overnighter experience. Bike touring sounds really attractive to me, though. I think I'll like it. Ask me again next year. I'll probably have bigger plans. :D

Natchez Trace in May. Brussel Sprouts tour in September. Both self contained.

I'm planning
A couple of MTB campouts, maybe an overnight bikepack.
Going to Napa for the Tour de Cure and winetasting.
Following the Tour of California camping out with my popup trailer.
Going to Levi's Gran Fondo.

At least those.

My buds and I have already put down the deposit on a week long mountain bike ride (through Western Spirit) camping along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have done plenty of road tours but never a mountain bike tour. This should be fun and interesting. I've only been to the North Rim once and remember it as beautiful. We are going in mid June and the temps should be cool. Hopefully lots of wildflowers will be blooming!

My daughter and I rode from near the North Rim Lodge out to Point Sublime this fall. We were going to go do some of Rainbow Trail but got rained out. Here's something to look forward to:thumb::

We didn't have someone haul our stuff, however. That's cheating:mad:;)

Thanks for the photos! Part of what we are doing is the Rainbow Rim trail. One day in one direction and the next in another. I am really looking forward to it. We will be out there camping 6 days. This is suppose to be a vacation so I am looking forward to just enjoying the riding and letting someone else cook and carry for me. Trust me, I much rather just stay in the Lodge every night! Camping (wilderness camping at that) is not my thing! Here's info on our trip: http://www.westernspirit.com/tripinfo.cfm?id=1198797285515. Come do it with us!

Northwest Tandem Rally, bunch of weekends doing centuries, Sierra-to-the-Sea tour 2011 (provided we don't have to camp!). Tough to take more time with horses at home.
