Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

You could break into a sweat wearing all that heavy clothing! The NWS says it's currently 59F at the Miami airport. That's shorts and tank top weather. Shed that winter jacket!

I love how the seatpost is clamped with a shop towel, we wouldn't want to scratch anything

I guess you don't care if you taco that front wheel. And what's with the blue hanging -- is this your secret lair?

That front wheel wasn't good for anything but tacoing. I used something else on the build.
The tarp keeps the rain out - I'd put Lexan panels on the bottom and shutters on the top half of the screening if I had the spare cash.

You forgot the rock and large hammer!
And no, he's not dressed too warmly. The last time I was doing the FL circuit regularly (St. Augustine reenactment) every native Floridian I knew went into the shivers are soon as the temperature dropped below 70F.

Awesome photo Kurt! I don't dress that heavily until it hits at least below zero.

Welll...... if that were me, I could guarantee that the stuck stem would suddenly and without warning catastrophically unstick, sending me sprawling backwards to eventually wake up in the back of an ambulance.

If it was me in that first picture, the headset would break loose and the wrench would slam into my, uh, manhood, leaving me curled in a ball on the floor. Such is my luck.

I tried the ammonia trick on my cinelli stem (on the Pro) - got a cheapo wheel, stuck it on, grabbed the handlebars and gave it a twist...I twisted my fork.

I think he's got a little of the Captain in him!
Every properly stocked Bike Tool Kit should come with a pipe wrench. The most damaging tool out there but often the only tool that will work in certain situations. Glad to see it.:D

Yep. No damage done, ready for a flip. Stripped of evil low-end derailers and brakes, and brought back to life as a coaster SS:

I saw a lot of folks riding coaster brake bikes last time I visited Miami. I hardly see any around here. I'm thinking of making a conversion and seeing how it sells. I think I should do a women's bike. What do you think?
