If someone would have told me at the start of 2009 that I would do more than 1000 miles on a bike during the last half of the year, I wouldn't have believed it. Chump change, I know, in comparison to many here, but for me a significant amount. (The first time I rode a few miles around my neighborhood, back in May, I thought I was going to keel over.) BTW I am on the RHS; the guy on the LHS is almost twice as old as me, and riding with him is very motivating and inspirational.

Crossing the finish line @ the MS150! I never thought I'd be where I'm at... last year at this time i was a 320 pound out of shape former college lineman.... currently 220 pounds and carved outta wood! (kinda) So fortunate to have found an outlet where I feel on top of the world one ride and completely humbled the next day!

FYI - Had a full achellies tendon reconstruction in 2007.....It's been a long hard ride.....Never give up and you will reach you goals....

Put a lot of work and time into getting this ride worked out...been thinking about it for over a year. Fun times.

The start of my 2009 Tour De Highway 99 - Washington. I rode from Vancouver, BC to Portland, OR, then along the Columbia River Highway, around Mt Hood, then back to Portland, OR. Lots of fun. 610 miles of fun. The photo was taken on August 2 in front of the Vancouver train station.
