Training & Nutrition - Just got my new BB Trackstand Ultra

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
This is the clutch type trainer (like the 1up). I'm just getting back into cycling, but DAMN there's a lot of resistance available even with the standard (low) setting.
Seems to be a very nice trainer. Solid, heavy, very quiet with plenty of resistance. It seems that BB doesn't make this unit for 2010 which is too bad. It's a nice alternative to the fluid trainers.

Just bought the same trainer (used) from a teamate.
I found that a little "preventative maintenance" will go a long way as a setup: Take apart the resistance unit, take out the ball-barrings and wipe everything clean. Lube anything / everything that spins and put back together.
This shouuld solve your problem (it did mine) of too much resistance, and will keep you from getting uneven or odd resistance while riding.
Thanks. It seems the resistance is pretty consistant as I ramp up the speed, it increases nicely and not too much. I was/still a little lacking in the bike leg department. I will keep the maintanence in mind, maybe this weekend I'll pull it apart and clean and lube it. Gene
