Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Has anyone out here ever done the Camp Pendleton Bulldog bike race? I'm new to racing but it looks fun. Check it out at www.camppendletonraces.com

did it once in a few years ago and got smoked. It's not that it was hard, so much that I was fat, out of shape and had no clue how to ride in a group.
The course isn't too tough. The first few miles are neutralized and then you're off. It's mostly rolling hills. The website is misleading because it only talks about a 10% descent. However, the race is an out and back course so a 10% descent means you had to go up that grade first. I remember thinking that it was a btch of a climb. Again, keep in mind that I was way out of shape.
Also, I remember the race being a few miles longer than what was advertised---either that or my computer was off.
